I assume you played before our new concept. You first have to choose a faction before you can do anything

Mine, you were fun in pvp, we definitely had some fun times as enemies and then as allied leaders.
Good luck on your future path! 5
Miscellaneous / Re: Linux guide for Dummies« on: April 11, 2013, 07:20:52 PM »
Thank you for the in-depth guide. Ill be using my win7 until it gets too old, and prepare to leave microsoft for the better (maybe start with dualboot sometime), since they abandoned Desktop users, which alone is a crime, and even drew the entire desktop market in their black hole of forced idiocracy (which is set in stone with statistics as of today), which I cannot ever forgive. And with their successor, they won't be fixing the crap they have built right now for the first time. The good-bad-good-bad scheme is abandoned. Leave the sinking ship sooner or later; and this is coming from someone who does not care much about OS'es by default.

Mwahaha. I'm overthrowing the system from the shadows.
HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE. ![]() PS: To put it all in topic, I agree with my suggestion, as well as the strictened one disabling showing player positions globally (at least as part of a test run for the first few weeks) 8

Actually, yes. This would be a "fog of war" as once-visited terrain (by any player) is visible to all, but to actually "see" something you'd need to have some eyes where you want intel from
Don't have anything against showing nether terrain, only cared about the players. Also for the first time actually watching out for enemies ingame would play a larger role. You could actually sneak into a base totally undetected this way. Maybe even only gather intel and leave again unnoticed if there is too much resistance. The only problem I could see with this is that it would be hard to find targets - maybe though its better this time with the faction worlds because the radii will be smaller than on our previous large maps. 9

Hm why not disable the nether dynmap
Would be fun to have to actually scout there if you want pre-warnings that early.

Ill be adding the thalanor seal of approval.
One thing to keep in mind when advertising: Know. Your. Targets! Who do we want for the new map? Players who can stand their ground and make PvP interesting, Players who are drawn here for guaranteed action and an unique concept. Does that player group read multipage lore? No, they don't. Do they want a background story that enables RP though? Yes, they want. As such the current state of the story is well suited. 11

Fortunately I asked first before touching the first birch log. You might want to avoid confusion and publicly declare such things (birch to spruce was placed prominently in the "derp manual"!)

We CS'es should switch from our "PvP perspective" whenever a server need arrises (like someone asking a question). The server is still the ultimate in terms of importancy, without the server there are no faction.
Also: I think all of us are old enough to play an RPG with enthusiasm without actually taking over the grudges of your character. ![]() Listen to Teyaz, and I wish all of us minecrackers great fun! 14
General Discussion / Re: Publicity games« on: February 01, 2013, 01:41:26 PM »
Well himeji was the only place that made sense for this, since even if its less players, not as many defenders were needed as attackers. If we do this again, we might be off well with small games and arenas (e.g. the spleef arena
) that don't require a world of their own. Even if it would be fun to have an organized event with 15+ players online - we kind of need to reach that number first again

Introducing: Dwarves / Might of the Dwarves« on: January 31, 2013, 11:12:22 AM »![]() Well met, stranger!![]() We are the mountaindwellers, the Dwarves of Minecrack. We are engineers and fighters superior. Our resolve is steel and we never forget a grudge. We welcome you to the halls of our ancestors to feast and recount deeds of heroes. Our craft is of quality and our minds honed. Thanes are the souvereign caste of the Dwarves. We use our experience both in and out of fight to keep our faction forums clean and uphold the dwarven way of life. Indy and me, both being Civilservants, are taking on this role. But hold on. That is not how the souvereign dwarves kept their souvereignity over the eons, however. We have a much better system than a king's dictate, a system that enables YOU to get the awesome faction projects going in the way they deserve it. We dwarves form Councils, and this is how they work: ![]() Take responsibility and power! Yes, YOU!![]() When one of us has an idea worth supporting, they may create a new council for this very project. Other dwarves can then join in by replying in the appropriate thread in our project forums visible only to dwarves! As soon as a council is complete, it has complete control over the project it was created for - e.g. only those involved in the actual project will have a huge say on that very project. Be it raids, awesome fortresses, or what else you can think of - make it possible today, work on it in a team of motivated dwarves, create a council! All councils are temporary. When the project is done, the council is nullified. This will keep our society and hierarchy alive and worthy of a true dwarven tribe. ![]() Gain access to our wealth. Estabilish yourself!![]() We dwarves rely on sturdy infrastructure to keep us supported. Aside from our capital, we will create fortresses over time for all dwarves to fall back to. We will have resources to support our newest members. And of course, we are a society of free dwarves - fill your personal treasury, build yourself a castle on our world map, leave a mark! ![]() See the work of our ancestors and honor it with your presence! ![]() Our magnificent capital is the Dwarven Hall of the Ancestors. It is a masterpiece of our art and it has stood for untold centuries. Never has an elf set foot inside it's precious halls, and any intruders are met with scorn. It has all the facilities to provide for us, painstakingly mined out of the raw stone and chiseled into perfection. It's halls have born witness to the Ancestors and many other heroes whose legends are still sung on the days of remembering. ![]() ![]() Avenge your ancestors, honor your tribe!![]() The Great Book of Grudges is an ancient tome which was started in an age forgotten long ago, by the Ancestors of our race. It contains all the wrongs and ill deeds made against the dwarves, and they are never erased. Sometimes a brave and valiant dwarf will take up an oath to avenge one of those wrongs in equal measure. These are the dwarfs of Oath. They swear by their beards, that one deed they are about to make will be done. Woe betide those who have wronged and an Oathbearer comes to face them. Should the Oathbearer fail, the consequences are grave indeed. He will suffer from being an Oathbreaker and must redeem themselves through blood and bone. Those who do succeed are honoured beyond measure and celebrated across the realm.
